Harmony isn't possible if we do not have a global ethic.
-Thich Nhat Hanh
My thesis body of work is an illumination of the text Interbeing by Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. The work is the result of a three month long daily practice in which I immersed myself in this piece of writing. It illustrates that experience and articulates what I feel is the essence of the concept of "Interbeing": Everything is interconnected. If we can see ourselves as connected to those we feel are very different, that is the root of compassion. And compassion makes it more difficult to harm or support the harm of others. This work is my nod to one of my heroes and his tireless humanitarian efforts.
